It's easier to talk about quiet than to do it. I am all the time reminding myself that multi-tasking is both a boon and a bane. Sometimes quiet and reflection can be an excuse for not going out in the world. I'm trying to find that balance between removing myself from "the world" to know God's will for me, to listen - and then get back out there inspite of all the glitz.
Ferrar lived an interesting life - but purposefully undergirded by faith and practice. TS Eliot honored him in his Four Quartets, some 300 years later - Little Gidding, Ferrar's home and site of a chapel still extant.
